The internet has been one of our biggest development yet. It has a lot of uses which can be useful to us but just as anything thing that has advantages, it also has disadvantages.
The internet is no longer a safe place because anybody can visit the internet at anytime. It is now a haven't for criminals and hackers who will try to steal some of your data.
According to Google, over 5.6 Million people are been hacked while using the internet.
Here I will provide some tips on how to stay say while using the internet;
1.Use a VPN
VPN stands for virtual private network. VPN keeps you safe from the internet because it helps by hiding something information about you on the internet like your email, your location and also your IP address.
They are various VPN that are used.Some of them are:
- CYBER GHOST.
- HMA VPN.
- HOLA VPN, etc.
2.Always log out from any website you have logged on to.
It is very essential to always log out from any website because when you login to sites you make cookies/sessions.
Those cookies will store your login details which means that if a hacker gets such he/she can be able to login to that site without much trouble.
So it is necessary to always logout from websites.
3.Avoid clicking suspicious links
Links are what directs you to a website. Avoid clicking links that are suspicious because that can lead you to site and steal your information.
A more better way of visiting sites without clicking suck links is searching for the site on Google. It is much safer than clicking links.
4.Stay away from the dark web
The dark web is a safe haven for criminals and hackers to visit in order to get some illegal things and information. Stay away from it as much as possible. I had a friend that visited the dark web and his Gmail was hacked. So it is very advisable to stay away from there because it is very dangerous.
5.Never share your personal information with anybody
It is true. If you are not sure that a site or someone is not legal or authorized to collect such information, then don't share it and you could report the person to a security personnel.
